Scenario
The story of how a young Donald Trump started his real estate business in 1970s and 1980s New York with the help of infamous lawyer Roy Cohn. Roger Stone, a longtime associate of both Donald Trump and Roy M. Cohn, admitted that Jeremy Strong’s portrayal of Cohn was “remarkable in its accuracy.” [From the trailer] Roy Cohn: Rule Three: No matter what happens, claim victory and never admit defeat.

There are some hindsight-based foreshadowings, but for the most part it’s entirely plausible. Some things are explicit that might actually have been left unsaid, particularly Cohn’s tutelage over Tr*mp: he actually gives numbered rules: attack, attack, attack; he always claims victory, and so on.
Jeremy Strong has Cohn to perfection
It doesn’t show two total monsters, both have a human side, Tr*mp especially in his relationship with his older brother Freddie. The acting from the two leads is spot on; we have no problem accepting Sebastian Stan as Trump once was, and. His hooded, dead eyes are specifically Cohn’s, but the scar on his nose, from a botched childhood operation his mother forced on him, is missing.
I couldn’t find any fault with the period details
Mary Anne Tr*mp’s Scottish accent sounded more Central European. As a key to what made Tr*mp who he is today, this film is excellent, even if it doesn’t tell the story of how his childhood shaped him into the person he met Cohn. I recommend it to anyone who’s still on the fence, to see before the election.
