Scenario

His version focused on the more mythic elements of ancient Rome and would have seen Maximus enter the afterlife only to encounter other souls yet to ascend further. He is eventually tasked by Jupiter and the other Roman gods to return to Earth to find and kill Hephaestus, the former god who has betrayed them. From there, he is resurrected as a Christian and must travel back to Rome on a mission to stop the spread of Christianity, while also crossing paths with the new emperor, Lucius.

The film would have ended with Maximus cursed to live forever, featuring a montage of the soldier fighting through the Crusades, World War II, and the Vietnam War, eventually revealing a modern-day Maximus working at the Pentagon in Washington. And that's what I've found to be good here

The visuals are stunning, the sets and costumes look realistic and stunning. Pedro Pascal is brilliant in every scene, he really sells all the emotions with such subtlety and minimalism. The main actor is one of the big problems, he always looks pale, like he's not really acting and has no real emotions.

Another big problem is the story that goes all over the place, Denzel Washington's plot

He was supposed to capture our hearts from the first scene, but somehow it didn't happen. To begin with, the film lacks more time for the audience to meet and fall in love with him, to make his motives more believable and his story more emotionally relatable. 39's character is just weird and bloated, the dialogues tend to be shallow...I was expecting worse but anyway this movie left me bloated...
