His version focused on the more mythic elements of ancient Rome and would have seen Maximus enter the afterlife only to encounter other souls yet to ascend further. He is eventually tasked by Jupiter and the other Roman gods to return to Earth to find and kill Hephaestus, the former god who has betrayed them. From there, he is resurrected as a Christian and must travel back to Rome on a mission to stop the spread of Christianity, while also crossing paths with the new emperor, Lucius.
The film would have ended with Maximus cursed to live forever, featuring a montage of the soldier fighting through the Crusades, World War II, and the Vietnam War, eventually revealing a modern-day Maximus working at the Pentagon in Washington. The studio decided not to accept this version, but the script is available online. Aired on The 7PM Project: Episode dated July 3, 2024 (2024).
The visuals are stunning, the sets and costumes look realistic and stunning. Pedro Pascal is brilliant in every scene, he really sells all the emotions with such subtlety and minimalism. The main actor is one of the big problems, he always looks pale, like he’s not really acting and has no real emotions.
He was supposed to capture our hearts from the first scene, but somehow it didn’t happen. To begin with, the film lacks more time for the audience to meet and fall in love with him, to make his motives more believable and his story more emotionally relatable. 39’s character is just weird and bloated, the dialogues tend to be shallow…I was expecting worse but anyway this movie left me bloated…

The series follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a TV documentary journalist whose job is to expose the transgressions of long-respected institutions. In several episodes, Jonathon uses the same lens throughout the series, a medium-length telephoto lens.
Such a lens would be unable to focus on close-up subjects such as selfies with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine. I rarely leave reviews, but after seeing some of the confusing negative reviews here, I had to share my thoughts.
If you’re looking for something to have on in the background while you scroll through your phone, this is not the show for you. His use of long, immersive takes, combined with the actors’ stellar performances, excellent sound design, and stunning cinematography, makes for an incredible viewing experience.
It seems like some viewers don’t have the patience or focus to follow the plot. Episode 1 throws you right into the action without much exposition, but if you pay close attention to the dialogue and just watch the show, things will start to fall into place.
If it keeps this level of quality until the end, it has the potential to become a cult classic in the years to come.

For those that don’t know, the previous incumbent Sally Hawkins said it was time to move on. I tried to warm to her but for me Emily Mortimer is just an older product of the London School of Lovely girls. I know the show has moved on but Emily’s opening moves are irritatingly flat and uninspiring. For a few minutes I thought Oh No!!
I tried hard to warm to her, she progressed oddly later in the movie…the least they could have done is give her a meaningful script, she seemed too much like a little wife who doesn’t say much. Sorry Em! The same for Madeleine Harris playing Judy, excellent more lines next time perhaps, for both. She may have been trying at times to be Sally Hawkins I’m not sure, but she had big boots to fill and Sally was a roaring success.
So anyway the loveable Peruvian finds himself this time taking their initiative and coming to the rescue of family members. This journey takes him art of Lahndan across the world into guess where… A family member is in trouble and the oldest folly and deadly sin is the cause of all the mischief. The scenery in the far off place is stunning, simply gorgeous, it inspired me to go there, as is London which is grimly happy.
There is a lot of hilarity in the movie, action and tear jerkers too, but very young children, of not very brave disposition will find the show not so warm hearted, scary in bits, I thought so at times. Visually it’s just as fantastic as the previous movies, while the script is at some point flat and a bit predictable, the mysteries unlocked were simple enough for a five year old to work out…aha..the target audience. Bonneville appears to have had a hair transplant not sure but he is as always putting in a grand performance, as do the Walters and some great newcomers to the story.Hey..a glamorous character from the last movie makes an appearance let' s just say, I don’t think it’s the end.
