The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes a living performing hits for the highest pay
He soon meets his match in the form of a tough British intelligence officer who pursues him in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. Check out our list of renewals and cancellations to see if your favorite show made it big.
A Jackal was seen driving a white Alfa Romeo Spider
In The Day of the Jackal (1973), The Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, although it was an earlier model. References to Graham Norton in the following: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossom (2024).
It’s an updated take on the classic story
The Day of the Jackal is as good as advertised. The series is about a sniper assassin (Eddie Redmayne) who goes by the nickname The Jackal.
He is a highly trained assassin and also a master of disguise
He’s been offered a job that’s so rewarding that he can retire, but the job is risky, especially with a ruthless British intelligence officer, Bianca (Lashana Lynch), hot on his trail. She follows him across Europe as he tries to complete his mission.
There are many casualties along the way as these two go head to head
Their personal lives begin to collide with their work as they begin to realize that other forces are pulling their strings. While some parts drag on to make it to the 10-episode mark, there’s plenty of action and drama throughout the series to keep you entertained.

A ranching family in Montana faces off against others encroaching on their land
Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is an experienced hand in the world of Rodeo.
Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows Not on Your Radar (2018)
John Dutton (Kevin Costner) frequently seems to "forget" his Montanan accent and drifts back into the SoCal speaking voice he normally uses.. (Review is only for the first two seasons)I came into this show not expecting to like it but the storyline, acting, and cinematography is superb.
Costner is a master actor as lead of the Duttons
Basically it's Mafia Wars in Montana with intermittent giant doses of testosterone (cowboys with guns on horses while fishing)! The show is at its finest when it shows the chessboard moves the Duttons and their enemies engage in.The show gets gummed early in the second season but starts rolling again midway through.
Thomas Rainwater is great too
Kelsey Asbille is the weakest link as Monica and plays a poor hand badly, the storyline jettisons awkwardly out and the acting just misses the mark.I think Cole Hauser as Rip may be the strongest acting (sans Costner himself) and looked forward to all the scenes Rip was in. The storyline hums and the scenery is beautiful.Just as Cormac McCarthy's "All The Pretty Horses" was a little more raw and brutal than the title suggests, this show strikes in a similar vein.
Highly recommend and wish I didn't wait so long to watch it

Both starred in Steve Jobs, Alien: Covenant and The Agency
What follows is a world of even deeper intrigue and deception, where characters fight their own battles as they face existential threats to the nation and the world. See our list of renewals and cancellations to see if your series favorite has arrived. This is the third time Fassbender and Waterson have worked together.
During the Martian dialogue in his discussion with Dr
Blake, the acronym “OBE”; is incorrectly explained as “Overrun by events”. In US government agencies, including those within the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, the correct/official explanation for the acronym “OBE” is: it is “Overcoming Events”. With Graham Norton and guests: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024).
Up to this point, no one had come even remotely close
I have to say that I was lucky enough to watch The Bureau a few years ago and it’s honestly probably one of the best things I’ve ever watched. There is a correlation between the two series, it is obvious that it was mentioned that it was “influenced”; according to him, but I did not expect such a story. Don’t get me wrong, the series so far is amazing, great acting, good cinematography, but it wasn’t something I hadn’t seen before in the French version.
You won’t regret it
It’s too early to tell how things will play out, but I recommend anyone who hasn’t watched The Office to watch it. After Fassbender played a professional assassin in David Fincher’s The Hitman and I saw that he was in the cast, I knew immediately that he was the perfect choice for the role. Watching these types of series really requires concentration so you can keep up with all the characters in the story and the little details about them.
This is not something you would aim for while cycling on an indoor trainer
Some would even consider them slow, maybe even boring, but it’s those complex character traits and personal struggles, and the slow build-up of tension that make them great, in my opinion. Either you love this type of series or you don’t, there is no middle ground.

Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka
the Penguin, stages a play to seize control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to shooting in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about their roles. The character was cast during the production of "The Penguin." Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022) but failed. However, for his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user, preferring cigars.
The absolute tone and atmosphere are nailed
An umbrella falls down and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024) featured. It’s gritty and dark and gloomy, but Farrell manages to capture the same charming glow that Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano did.
Where to start with Farrell
There are similarities to the Sopranos, especially in tone. There’s a lot of dark stuff toned down in this opening episode, but there are still comedic moments that fit the tone and don’t detract from it. Amazing is the right word. It’s great to see talented star actors take on roles like this, and whatever they’ve done with makeup/cgi or physically transforming him into the Penguin not only passes the eye test, it looks incredibly realistic.
And Farrell is completely immersed in this character as an actor
If the makeup job is not good enough or even a little lacking, it’s always a risk that it could be completely distracting. In Penguin, it adds to his performance and the overall quality of the show, because it’s such a good job. I might be a little biased because he was one of my favorite actors before this show, but this will give him the ratings he deserves. All episodes at once, but I wanted to see how this really came out.
Kudos to everyone involved in this project
Did not disappoint, in fact I was blown away.
