With their powers surpassing all others, Sonic's team must forge an unlikely alliance

Sonic, Knuckles and Tails reunite to face a powerful new foe, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike any they've faced before. Check out the actors who have appeared in some of their favorite animated films and TV shows, including Keanu Reeves in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

The film also draws inspiration from narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993)

The creators of the previous films mentioned that they were inspired by the role of Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2001) and the solo game Shadow the Hedgehog (2005). In the TV series, Knuckles Sonic said, "The robot is gone, and there's no need to fight." But in this film, he tells Tails and Knuckles that they need to ask Dr.
